A Tale of Two Kingdoms

You are Maeldun Whiteblade, who three years ago stopped the bloody conquest of King Vortigern. It's Autumn Equinox and celebrations are in order. The memories of the war with the kingdom of Theylinn have almost faded. You drink your mead, enjoy the delicious harvest and share horror stories of the Fair Folk with your companions. Perhaps from now on, life will be quiet and boring - just the way you have always wished it to be.

But suddenly a messenger arrives, telling you that your old enemy needs your help. The goblins are attacking their border and if Theylinn falls, it might mean the end of your peaceful lands also. Troubled by these news, you accept the call for help. As you stand on the deck of the ship, you know deep inside of you that there is more to this than meets the eye. For hidden within the borders of Theylinn lies a second kingdom, named Thierna na Oge, where the faeries reign. As the ship arrives in the docks you put these thoughts away - it's time to meet your old enemy face to face.

A Tale of Two Kingdoms is a puzzle-solving adventure reminiscent of the classic style of Sierra and LucasArts contributions to the genre. The player advances through the fairy tale-like plot by solving predominantly inventory-based puzzles and participating in multiple-choice conversations with the characters. The game features five different endings, several side quests and alternate solutions, as well as teamwork with non-player characters.
