Face Noir

A disillusioned private eye named Jack Maria Del Nero has accepted an ordinary request to find a twenty year old blondie for a middle-aged guy. But it was only the first step in twisted night of March 27th, 1934 in New York City. Falsely accused of the murdering a long-time missed police partner, Sean, who left a little girl in Jack’s protection, Jack tries to find out who the child is and why she is so important for different criminal groups of people. The city infested with corruption and economic uncertainty stands on his way to accomplish this task.

Face Noir is a classical point-and-click adventure game. It is flown mostly in third person view, when player moves the character around the screen, selects the hotspot, and looks at / interacts with it. Several supportive actions such as picking locks, interacting with mechanisms, reading papers, examining objects, solving puzzles, etc. are flown in first person view. Conversations allow to see emotional expressions on character faces. Certain ideas for the conversation topics come based on a proper combination of two pieces of information gained by Jack previously. Inventory may be switched between 2D and 3D view, and 3D view allows to examine the inventory object and to see some valuable information. Cutscenes are shown in comics art-style, and the soundtrack is jazz-oriented.

The player controls Jack most of the time and Sean in some parts. Certain part of the game is connected with mystique and time-manipulation. Conclusion of the game is transferred to Face Noir II.
