Dry Drowning is a single player, murder mystery, visual novel. The choices the player makes as they progress through the story will lead them to one of three different endings.
The story is told from the point of view of Mordred Foley, a private detective in a fictional future city. He and his partner investigated some serial killings and brought those responsible to justice and they were executed for their crimes. Later the evidence was called into question and for two years Mordred was investigated with the possibility that he could be executed too if found guilty of fabricating evidence. The game starts with his release on the grounds of insufficient evidence, and a new case - another ritual killing.
The game consists of a series of investigations which are presented as chapters in a book, Chapter One: Gods and Monsters was released as a playable demo to the full game.
