Heartland Deluxe

Heartland is a adventure game developed with the AGS engine. The entire game takes place in a single rendered room, in which you can scroll using a 360 degrees 1st-person panoramic perspective. Quite short, it is part of a larger series of vignettes centered around a mysterious scientific project called caterpillar.

When R. J. Cooms, a local nut, leaves a note at the City Pursuer newspaper, reporter David Lawson, troubled by soaring headaches, goes to his apartment to investigate the matter. Coombs is not home, but Lawson snoop through his belongings to find clues about what has happened. The reporter needs to watch television clips, listen to tape recordings, and find a way to uncover the sinister secrets hidden in the room.

Controlled using the mouse, you can either examine, pick up, or use objects. There is also an inventory to hold a few items. Although the game is fairly short, the shreds of evidence and the puzzles will keep you busy for an hour.
